THE FUNCTION
A mobile application that allows people(individuals or groups) to easily and effectively book their favorite concerts and also connect with fun seekers attending the same concert.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Usually when going for a concert or an event , Most people tend to forget the date due to the fact that they purchased tickets and don’t get reminders. Some said they dislike getting notifications from apps while some said they don’t get notifications from purchase source.
Also some miss out on early bird tickets, discounts and offers due to this. Also some people don’t even go for events cause they have no one to go with. We sampled various event booking apps and we realized that this was a major problem.
SOLUTION
We decided to create a mobile application that automatically syncs reminders with your mobile phone calendar to remind you of a concert you have booked/paid for, Also this gives updates on upcoming shows, early bird tickets and discounts or offers.
Also while on the app, once you have booked an event, if you have no one to go with you can socialize on the app and meet new people.
Basically we have brought you ‘EVENT TINDER”. Cool right?




PROCESS



RESEARCH
So we began our research process by reaching out to our followers on Instagram through Instagram questions, at our offices and sending out surveys to our WhatsApp contacts.
We got 215 responses as a group from our various audiences.

After this, we downloaded some apps In the responses we got from the beginning of our research process and sampled them using the apps to also have a feel of the User Experience. The apps downloaded include: Eventbrite, Ticketmaster, Nairabox. We then decided to use these apps as a guide and as our competitive analysis and improve on what is already existing. These apps include: Bandsintown, Songkick and Eventbrite.


Competitive Analysis
We sampled three(3) major event booking app which are Bandsintown, Songkick and Eventbrite.



Pain points:
1. Some users we interviewed didn’t want to use other apps because they don’t usually have anyone to go to concerts with so they just don’t bother using them.
2. Some users complained of the rigorous payment process.
Focus points:
1. Simplified payment process
2. Connect and chat with users going for the same event
3. Reminders for tickets and automatic calendar sync with mobile phones.
4. Email and in-app notification of early bird tickets, discounts and other offers.

Validate/feedback:
We reached back out to some of the people we interviewed in the beginning to test out the prototype and give their feedback. Here are the responses We received:
“ I like how it doesn’t look so complicated to use. The connect feature is really great since I love to meet people. ”
“ I’m so happy there’s a reminder feature implemented into this. I am quite forgetful. ”
“ Being able to find concerts near me is really remarkable. With this feature, looks like I can be able to do attend a lot. Great work! ”
“ Yes,! Finally an app that does more than just bookings. This will change the game for me. Thank you for doing this. ”
“ I love everything about the app and what it has to offer.”
Conclusion
This Case Study has been a challenging yet, rewarding one for us. Designing the app from scratch was a great learning experience for us as a group and researching and seeing how the intended users validated the effectiveness of it is truly rewarding.
We challenged ourselves to work hard, be consistent and attentive while working on this project. Doing so allowed us to complete this in 4 weeks.
In the future, We plan on adding more features and capabilities such as:
1.To span across concerts in Africa

2. To able to connect with different people on the continent
3. To develop the app.
